  15. For Seasoning
  16. 1/4 tsp ghee
  17. 1/4 mustard seeds
  18. 2-4 curry leaves
  19. 1 dry red chilli

Instructions to make to make Dahi Lauki Curry

  1. Wash and peel bottle gourd, chop them to pieces. Subject to one whistle in a pressure cooker with a pinch of salt and half cup water so as we do not lose the nutrients.
  2. Take 1 tbsp ghee add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing, dry red chili, ginger paste. Add soaked chana daal, urad daal, and fry till roasted.
  3. Add the steamed lauki and 2 tbsp coconut milk and mix well.
  4. Take the curd and add equal water and make a smooth liquid. add to the mixture and allow to boil. Once it starts boiling simmer the flame and cook till the lauki is well cooked in the coconut curd gravy.
  5. For seasoning just take a small pan add 1/4 tsp ghee, curry leaves, mustard seeds, 1 dry red chilli and fry and pour on top of the curry. Serve with rice or roti.
